In 2015, the World Climate Conference in Paris decided that global warming should be limited to 1.5 degrees. It was already clear to the participants at the conference that the target could not be achievedand that the decision on 1.5 degrees should only be seen as a symbolic figure for the industrialised countries to be able to impose regulations on the less developed countries.

The picture takes up the motto of the conference, two hands holding a globe in their centre. In this work, the abstracted hands hold a radiant centre, like a monstrance, that is in the process of dissolving, while the geometric form (made of clay) resembles a dried-up river landscape. At the same time, the outside penetrates the inside. In order to be able to sell the unattainable result to the public, the organisers then coated the clay with gold.

The second look: At the end of the World Climate Conference, the result of 1.5 degrees was announced to the rest of the planet's inhabitants with a huge celebration ...

We supply a black light lamp with the picture so that the viewer can recognise...it's all just a spectacle!
